How to complete KYC without losing your balance

Check you are eligible first, then verify early — not at cash-out.

CSCryptoSlotGuide editorial desk
The short version
→Check whether you are eligible before you deposit, not after
→Verify on a quiet day — the worst time to start is mid-withdrawal
→6 operators publish the exact figure that triggers a check

Verification is the step where a casino stops treating you as a balance and asks who you are. It is also where money gets stuck, almost always for the same reason: the account was opened in a hurry, the details did not match the documents, and nobody found out until a withdrawal was already in flight.

Start with eligibility, before you deposit anything. Two separate things have to be true. Your country has to allow you to play — that is the law where you are, and it is not the operator's decision. And the operator has to accept your country, which is in its own terms. They disagree more often than you would think: nine countries we cover ban online casinos while most operators' terms do not mention them at all. Our legal map has the first answer and each casino page has the second. Getting this wrong is the one mistake that cannot be fixed later, because a balance built in a place you were never allowed to play is a balance you will not be paid.

Register with the details that are on your documents. Legal name as spelled on the ID, date of birth, address as it appears on a recent bill or statement. Not a nickname, not an old address, not a middle name you usually drop. Every mismatch is a manual review, and manual reviews happen at the slowest possible moment. One account per person, in your own name — paying a balance to someone whose name is not on the account is the thing compliance teams are built to stop.

Then verify, and do it early. Of the 46 casinos we track, 12 make verification a step you complete before you can play or withdraw, and 6 publish the figure that triggers it — Cloudbet at $2,200 of cumulative deposits, FortuneJack at $10,000, Winna within 30 days of your first deposit or €2,000 wagered, mBit above 1 BTC. Another 25 run no routine check and reserve the right to ask anyway, usually at the moment you withdraw. Only one says it never will. So the question is not whether you can avoid it; it is whether you do it on a quiet Tuesday or during a cash-out.

What to have ready. A government photo ID, usually both sides. A selfie, sometimes holding the document — seven operators ask for one and one wants it from five angles. Proof of address dated within the last three months, which thirteen ask for: a utility bill or bank statement, not a screenshot of an app. Where larger sums are involved you may be asked for source of funds, which means showing where the money came from rather than just who you are. Photograph documents flat, in daylight, with all four corners in frame and nothing cropped — most rejections are a corner out of shot, not a problem with the document.

Submit through the account itself, never anywhere else. Open verification from inside your own logged-in session. No legitimate operator asks for identity documents over live chat, email, Telegram, Discord or a link someone sends you, and anyone who does is not the casino. Some route the check through a third-party provider — Duel uses Checkin.com, Solcasino uses Sumsub — which is normal, but you should still arrive there from inside your account rather than from a link.

If it stalls. Most delays are a document that was readable to you and not to a reviewer: a glare, a cropped edge, an address that no longer matches. Resubmit a cleaner copy before assuming anything is wrong. If a check is taking longer than the operator's own stated time, ask support through the account and keep the thread. And read the bonus terms before you opt in rather than after — Bluff needs no verification to withdraw unless you took a bonus, at which point it does.

Every operator, by what its policy does

Read from each casino’s own verification page or terms. Where an operator’s marketing and its policy disagree, the policy is what is recorded here.

Its own pages disagree

The operator's own sources disagree with each other. Recorded as its own answer rather than resolved by picking the friendlier one.

1winIts crypto guide says there's no mandatory KYC on every withdrawal, with documents requested only in exceptional cases such as suspected multiple accounts, fraud or unusual activity. Its terms are stricter: ID may be requested once total withdrawals pass $500 (plus photos of a deposit card), and ID, proof of address or a bank statement can be requested at any timesource ↗
Wager.comIts sources disagree. The AML policy lists ID and proof of address among what players provide at registration, with checks again on withdrawal requests and at EUR 2,000 of cumulative withdrawals (plus selfie, bank statements or source of funds for higher-risk accounts). Its help centre describes four risk-based tiers, with email and basic details required before depositing and says not all withdrawals need verificationsource ↗
