Under Austria's Gambling Act (GSpG), casino games may not be offered online without a federal concession, and a licence from another EU country does not count; the only concession covering online gambling is the lottery concession held by Österreichische Lotterien, used on win2day.at. Sports betting needs a licence from the federal state instead. A new Gambling Act, sent to the EU for notification in August 2026, would open online gambling to an open concession procedure.
