Online casinos in Iowa: what the law says
Iowa licenses retail and online sports wagering, online casinos are not legal, and SF 2289 (2026) lets the regulator issue cease-and-desist orders against illegal sweepstakes.
No licensed online casino in Iowa
Iowa's regulator lists online casinos as not legal. The IRGC lists these as 'advance deposit sports wagering operator' licensees - the licence class that, in the Commission's own wording, is how a casino facility offers 'online sports wagering operations' - together with each operator's casino associations. Retail sports wagering vendors are published separately within the individual facility licence pages and are excluded here. The page carries no published as-of date.
Sports betting is live: the regulator lists 13 online sportsbooks, among them DraftKings, Caesars, FanDuel, BetMGM.

Each one's own restricted-states list does not name Iowa. Sweepstakes casinos run on free coins with prizes redeemable for cash, which is how they operate where online casinos are not legal — the law tile above says whether Iowa allows them.
